Suburbanisation Effects in the Surroundings of Győr

Abstract

In the neighbourhood of the larger Hungarian cities almost everywhere can be demonstrated suburbanisation effects. Our study tries to connect to those works, which may help the comparative examination of the Hungarian rural suburbanisation. With the help of the questionnaires and interviews among the inhabitants and the local governments of settlements near to Győr we explore those effects and phenomena, which indicate the started and accelerated suburbanisation process. Beside the population change of these settlements, the structure of the settling in population and their motivations, we analyse the effects of this process on the change of the local society in the recipient settlements and how can the newly came families connect into the local communities. Furthermore, the questions what do the moving out citizens keep from their former relationships and where they use the different services are also very important. Despite of the accelerated suburbanisation it is a further question, whether the process will affect significant masses and areas in the next period.
